Corrosion of Alloys in Ethyl Acrylate Synthesis
Corrosion of Alloys in Ethyl Acrylate Preparation from Acetylene
Conditions: Specimens exposed in an ethyl acrylate
reactor for 74 days at a temperature 110 ºC (230 ºF) with sulfuric acid catalyst.
of
Conditions: Specimens exposed in the reaction kettle where acetylene, carbon monoxide, ethanol and nickel chloride were agitated heavily for 17 days. Acids formed were approximately 5% acrylic and 2.5% hydrochloricacid.
